Our Dogs
The Awesome Pawsome club was formed in 2001 , and started  in Logan outside of Brisbane's southside, and moved soon after to it's current grounds at Mt. Gravatt Showgrounds.

There are a few original members still competing today. Awesome Pawsome Flyball club are a major force in flyball in Qld.  With very experienced dogs and handlers, the club has enjoyed many successes in competitions as well as having lots of fun for dogs and handlers.

Awesome Pawsome are the current National Champions for Division 2

Training is held on Friday nights for all level dogs from beginners through to advanced, and starts at 6.30pm. Occasional extra training is held on Sundays throughout the year.

 

CLUB RULES :  

1.           Payment of training fees must be paid, before commencement of class, to the treasurer or representative

2.           For insurance purposes only financial members are permitted to train

3.           All dogs to be kept on lead whilst on the grounds.  Leads may only be removed when requested by your trainer.

4.           If your dog fouls on the grounds at any time, it is your responsibility to clean it up immediately

5.           While your dog is in class, he/she is to wear a fixed collar only. To prevent injuries to dogs, no check chains, slip collars, citronella, or electric shock or prong collars are allowed.

6.           Dogs are allowed off lead in a designated area only.  This area is off the main oval on the Logan Road side – but this is at the sole responsibility of the owner.

7.           Closed in footwear must be worn whilst training your dog (no thongs, sandals or bare feet will be allowed.)

8.           Bitches in season are not permitted on the grounds

9.           Membership is not transferable. Memberships paid after 1st April will cover the following financial year.

10.        No smoking during class

12.   It would be appreciated if mobile phones could be switched off during training

13.   Dogs 6 months of age will be evaluated before joining.

14. Dogs must be crated or during night time training or put into the car during periods without your dog.  Dogs are not to be pegged out or tied to the fence. 

15. Club membership and renewals are due at the end of the financial year (June 30).

TRAINING :
Training is held on friday nights from 6.30pm set-up ,at Mt Gravatt Showgrounds. On days where the weather is looking bad, an sms message will be sent to all members notifying whether training is off for that night, approx an hour before training is due to start.

Some weeks there will be no training due to the grounds being used by another party. Notifications of this will be made via email .


Any dog of any breed can train in flyball. Dogs under 12 months will get special training that will avoid stress on their underdeveloped joints, until they reach the age of 12 months.

No other dog training is required to start flyball, although some basic obedience skills are recommended.

All dogs attending training are required to have their vaccination certificates up to date and presented to treasurer upon signing up with the club.

On training nights, you should bring - crate, dog lead, water bowl.

Any special conditions, such as previous injuries or illness to your dog should be mentioned upon joining the club.

 

COSTS :
A yearly membership fee is due to all members that train with the club.

Training cost $ 5.00 per handler for each training you attend.

To compete in flyball, each competitor MUST be a member of the AFA ( Australian Flyball Association ), pay the annual fee and receive a CRN number. A cost of between $ 15- $ 20 for those in a competition.

Flyball club members are expected to purchase a club shirt for when they compete. Shirts $ 45 .

Awesome Pawsome flyball club train at

Mt Gravatt Showgrounds , Logan Rd. Mt Gravatt in Brisbane.

Entry onto the grounds is via Logan Road, or side street on Broadwater Road.

Training is at this location, as well as competitions hosted by the club throughout the year.
