From the (Acting) President Brian Moore has resigned as President for health reasons, and I (Anne Dymock) am now the acting president until the 2008 Annual General Meeting. I would to take this opportunity to thank Brian for all the work he has put into the club, not only through his leadership role as president, but for all the other big and small jobs that he does around the club (and for his dedication to flyball in general). We and look forward to continuing to see him race and train with us in the future. I only hope I can help continue to contribute to the growth of flyball, and help make Awesome Pawsome, even more Awesome than it already is. See "From the President March 2008" March 2008 Newsletter is released Some updates on Training Page (more to come) Added "Clean Run" to FAQs Updated Committee Page Updated Front page with request for availability for April and May competitions. Need to notify Vic Plant by 14 March for April Comp, and 11 April for May Comp. |

We're back from the Nationals, Awesome Pawsome competed well and come third in division two at the Nationals in Canberra. In the Singles and Pairs, Yogi came first in division four and Jennifer had some great starts, including a 0.000 - you can't beat that - way to go Jen! Delta teamed up with Pac for the Pairs event, and they were division one champions. Keith ran Misty really well and got some fantastic starts. Zaq did really well too and recorded some of his fastest times yet. Though Maddie didn't get to run in the team, she had some fun in the singles and pairs with Yogi (in a team called - wait for it - MadYogi!). Jo did a great job as team captain, and got a good chunk of her stewarding for Judge training done, as well as lots of box loading. Both Kevin and Jen helped out on the timing table so the timekeepers could have a lunch break. As always Steve was doing everything he could to get things running smoothly, from repairing boxes, to ring setup to spruiking, and of course running his dog. Fairfield also had a team in Canberra, in division three, and came first (Congratulations). The team spirit and the Queensland spirit was great, and both Queensland teams pitched in and helped each other. Rosie also gave us a hand with stats when she was available.

They're here! The Flyball Nationals for 2008 are being held as part of the Royal Canberra Show on 22-24 February 2008. Awesome Pawsome is fielding a team with Zaq, Misty, Delta, Yogi, Marbles and Maddie. Keith was bringing Lizzy, but she has had to pull out due to injury, luckily Misty was available, and Keith will be handling her. A number of these people (and dogs) will also competing in the singles and pairs competition. Jo Slade, is coming to help box load, and do stewarding as part of her Judge training. Kevin and Jennifer Crane and Steve Pitt are also going to try to fit in as much stewarding as they can for their judge training! Wish us luck and safe travelling.
